Devnagiri /Devnagari/ Hindi Tattoo Translations For Free
Well, when I was browsing the internet looking for tattoo ideas, I realised that many sites charge money to do translations to the Devnagiri (Hindi, Marathi) script for tattoos. Being born and brought up here in Mumbai, I am pretty well versed in the language and know to do Devnagiri Translations accurately. David Beckham could have done with someone like me because his wife Victoria's translation name is wrong. My name in Devnagiri is मगाली । I am presently offering to do Devnagiri Translations for Tattoos absolutely free. If I get a good response I may start doing it professionally by the beginning of the year 2009. So anyone interested in having me translate their name for them leave a comment to this post with your email id and I will get in touch with your translation. Remember this is a trial period and next year I may start charging for this service so if you are interested then hurry up and leave a comment!

Shopping
Yesterday Mom took me to shopping to a popular skin care/make up brand outlet right af
ter my English exam. I totally splurged and got three new nail polishes (bringing my personal nail polish collection to 12). I also bought a new Mascara which incidentally turned out to be blue! I was a bit apprehensive about the colour at first but it turned out to be absolutely gorgeous! I get so happy after buying make-up though I hardly use eye make up because of my glasses and all. I was considering using lenses but they turned out to be an absolute head ache and glasses are so convenient. Is there anyone reading this who uses lenses either occasionally or on a daily basis??? Please leave a comment bacuse I have a few qustions. Thanks.

College Rulz!
Ok, It's been quite some time since College started, so I am used to it now. At first I was a little apprehensive, about being in a co-ed area, about ragging, dressing up etc. But now I really think college is nice, not as scary as the prospect seemed at first. I have even made a few new friend. Here's one of them. She's Brinny.

RIP
As usual, I spaced out too much between posts. Lot has happened since the last post. We now use internet on the laptop, I came down with a bad case of flu and I recovered, too (I know that was a really stupid rhyme). I've made new friends in college, too.
I just opened the paper on Sunday and was shocked to see the following headline- "Comedian Bernie Mac passes away" This came just three days after I re-watched "Guess Who" (which is one of my favourite comedy films along with Pink Panther and Rush Hour 3) and about a mont
h since I watched "Charlie's Angels:Full Throttle"
Even after I read the details of his death I just could't believe it as I considered him one of the best stand-up comedians.
I was really in shock the whole day.
Bernie Mac, May your soul rest in Peace.

When you think of India, what comes to mind?
Today in French classes our teacher asked us what reminds us of France. So a list was made- fashion (haute couture, la mode), Mona Lisa (La Jaconde) and so on. It then struck me that because of some supposedly brilliant people like Satyajit Ray imported poverty, ignorant Americans whould answer that same question of India something like this- Ganesh, Flying Carpets, Elephants, Jungles. It's so sick because while France's first university was in ADs, India first brilliant university Takshila was flourishing in BCs and people from all over the world came to study. When Christopher Columbus found America, he was searching for India and he thought he had found it so he called the local inhabitants 'Indians' (Hence the name 'Red Indians' for native Americans.
We were also RICH in natural resources and till the early 20th century, India was the ONLY source of diamonds in the world. And that huge diamond on the crown of that dim-witted queen of England? The ko-hi-noor (mountain of light)? That's ours. How many countries can boast of a profile like that?
And by the way, I was wondering, if I was taking German classes and the teacher asked me that same quetion, could I mention Oktoberfest? The only five things that Germany is famous for is Hitler, Nazism, Eau de Cologne, Beer and Greedy Obese People.

French Class
Well as usual I spaced out too much between my posts and so much is left unsaid. So I'll keep it brief. College was supposed to start today but it's delayed and will start on Monday. I got my new laptop! It's awesome. I've been taking French classes since about a week now and am starting to enjoy it. It's thrice a week, my teacher is good and she's one of the few people who can pronounce my name right because it's French.

Singh is not Kinng!
As most of my friends and family know, I am a great fan of Snoop Dogg. No, a Huge fan of
Snoop Dogg. He has been my favorite ever since I was in eight grade, and right now I am starting eleventh grade in eight days. I recently purchased two Snoop Dogg CDs, and have been listening to his music non-stop for about a week. I also check out Snoop Dogg's official site and Wikipedia page quite often, it keeps me pretty much updated. Like just a week ago when I found out that Snoop Dogg has announced that the name of his upcoming album will me 'Malice In Wonderland.'
Well, I was just doing that yesterday when I stumbled across this line on his Wikipedia page-
Snooop Dogg has recently ventured into singing for Bollywood with his first ever rap for an Indian movie Singh Is Kinng; the title of the song is also Sing
h is Kinng. The album featuring the song was released on June 8, 2008 on Junglee Music Records .
Ok, So I was really happy at first to hear it, the familiar Snoop D O Double G and all and specially the part about 'Whaddup to all the ladies hanging out in Mumbai.' (mainly because i'm one of them.) But I couldn't help but think back to little over a year ago when Akon came to Mumbai as part of the promotions for a Music Channel and the fact that every roadside wannabe or tapori guys as we call them were singing Smack That aloud every time I pass because they knew that I was the type that only listened to English music and frowned on Bollywood music. Their singing went something like this-
Smek Det, Oll On De Floor
Smek Det, Geev Me Some More
Smek Det, Teel You Get Sore
Smek Det, OOooo
There's no need to mention how recounting those memories fills me with utter disgust and right now I think that if the song becomes popular, (and it probably will because it's so catchy) that every single guy on the road will be trying to 'rap' a Snoop Dogg song. Well, if I look on the bright side this may pave the way for a Snoop Dogg concert in Mumbai which I have always wished to attend.(That's is of course if My Mother allows me, she fears sending me because of frequent reports of molestation at these sort of concerts.) I also hate most bollywood films, few exceptions to that being 'Cheeni Kum' and 'Taxi Number Nau Do Gyarah.' Mum and me discussed about how most Indians are Bollywood addicts and quite a lot of Bollywood movies successes depend on their soundtrack.
But I still think that Snoop Dogg's entry into Bollywood will be the cheapening of a genius. Or maybe he's not a genius, maybe he's just a greedy lustful idiot who makes pretty good music.
